New opportunity in 2026 - Unique Account Manager

After nearly 3 years in Christchurch we're sadly saying farewell to Rebecca. She's returning to her roots in the Wellington region for a new chapter and adventures. We can't thank her enough for all her hardwork, dedication, knowledge and passion for our products. We will miss you Rebecca and wish you all the best!

Of course this opens the door for someone new to join our team. We'd love to hear from you'd like to be our new South Island Account Manager. Based at the Mainland Design Centre in Christchurch Central, you'll look after our South Island clients, with plenty of opportunity to travel throughout the island. You'll work with a broad range of designers, manufacturers, architects and retailers.

We're looking for someone who:
    • Has a genuine passion for textiles and interiors
    • Is highly organised, with great attention to detail
    • Ideally has experience in sales or the interior design industry

Christmas here we come!

Every year we say the same thing but we really, REALLY appreciate your support throughout the year!

We've had a super busy 12 months, packed with gorgeous products and exciting projects: It was nice to settle into our new Sydney location and give our Auckland showroom a refresh. We welcomed Pele, Lyndal and Kelly Ann to our team (NZ, VIC and NSW respectively). Our Annual Sale was a big success. We had a blast at Industry on Arthur and the various Design Days we participated in. We again had the pleasure of hosting Robert Petit from JAB. We released stunning collections from all our indent brands - who continue to create incredibly beautiful and innovative ranges.

So thank you again - we literally couldn't do it without you!

Our new Cuttings Cart is here!

We know how important it is to get your hands on the perfect fabric sample quickly - so we've made it easier than ever to request multiple cuttings in one go! Whether you’re sourcing for a client project, planning a presentation, or exploring our latest collections, our updated Cuttings Request process has been designed to be smoother, faster, and smarter. Here’s how it works...

Step 1 - When you want to request a cutting
On any product page, click “Request Cuttings” for the designs and colourways you’d like to sample. This adds them straight into your Cuttings Cart - just like adding items to an online cart.

Step 2 - Preview Your Selections
As soon as you add a cutting, a preview appears showing everything in your cart. You can quickly check what you’ve selected as you browse. 

Step 3 - View All Cutting Requests
When you’re ready to confirm your cutting request, click “View All Cutting Requests” or the Cuttings Cart icon at the top of the site. Here you’ll see a full list of your selected designs, brands, and colourways.

Step 4 - Confirm & Send!
When you’re happy with your list, simply hit “Proceed with Request”, and then click “Confirm Cutting Request.” Our team will handle the rest and get your samples on their way!

Introducing Harvest Moon

We were thrilled to hear Kit Kemp and Andrew Martin were working on another collaboration. Their first two projects were hugely successful - the eponymous Fabric and Wallpaper collections. The wallpaper design Mythical Land and fabric Friendly Folk in particular received a lot of love from our clients.
Their new release is the joyful Harvest Moon, a magical collection of prints, embroideries, wallpapers, tapestries and upholstery designs. Harvest Moon beautifully re-creates naive and folk art motifs and hand painted looks. We especially love the hand crafted touches of embroidery and appliqué. It's all combines to create a charming and highly usable range.

This event is happening across all of our showrooms (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch), from 1pm til 5pm. Design Review - entries now open!

Andrew Martin are now accepting submissions for the Andrew Martin Interior Designer of the Year award. This is a wonderful opportunity for our clients to showcase the very best of Australian and New Zealand interior design on an international stage. Finalists will be included in the venerated Design Review book, a must-have publication for the interior design industry.

We've had numerous antipodean finalists over the years - it's always such a thrill to see our clients' work showcased and celebrated. Best of luck to all of you who enter. We are long overdue an antipodean overall winner!

New next week - Above the Clouds!

Some exciting news for Monday (6 October): It's release-day for Above the Clouds, Carlucci's 2025 collection of fabrics and wallcoverings. And what a singular collection it is!
As the name suggests the Carlucci designers have beautifully captured the ever-changing splendor of the skyscape with dreamy layered colours, filigree textures and dynamic patterning. The wallcoverings in particular have really caught our eye. If you are looking for statement grasscloths when do check out the Shapes of Beauty book.
Above the Clouds is another fabulous example of Carlucci's 'relaxed glamour' that is never boring, always elegant and wonderfully tactile.

Introducing Salone - Houlès latest

We were so excited to hear about this: Houlès and Michael Aiduss have teamed up again for their second collaboration, called Salone. True to form it’s another stunning collection of elegant, characterful passementerie.
Salone is inspired by early Italian modernist architecture and offers a diverse range of looks - from botanical motifs, to hints of classicism and Ponti-esque geometrics. If you’re a fan of passementerie and the magical things it can do to an interior then call into a Unique showroom and see Salone.

Design Days in Christchurch

Something exciting for our clients in Christchurch later this week... Join Designmade and Mainland Design Centre for 2 days of inspiration as we showcase the latest collections from our suppliers. Start time is 9am for both days, finishing at 2pm on Friday. Visit anytime during the day, there will be no specific presentation times. Courtesy transport will be provided between the two locations.

Visitors to our MDC showroom are in for a treat… I will be previewing Carlucci’s 2025 release Above the Clouds. We can’t wait to give you a sneak peek of this stunning collection. I will also be presenting the new and very swoon-worthy collections from Houlès, including the fabulous Salone - the new collaboration between Houlés and Michael Aiduss.
